Antigua in September

I have done quite a bit of research about travelling to Antigua in September. Many sites tell me that September has the biggest concentrations of hurricanes in the Carribean. A quick google http://www.google.com/search?q=antigua+hurricane shows a lot of hurricane info for Antigua.
A lot of the message boards state the chances of getting hit by a hurricane are small but these are usually posted by people like
captainjohn@antigua-cruises.com.

It was the end of October when I was out that direction. There were signs that it could get quite windy during a couple of evenings but it wasn't rough or disruptive to the holiday in the slightest. In fact the breeze was pretty welcoming after the daytime heat. Never worry, have a bit of faith in ol' Captain John!

Thta's my reaction, but I have seen pictures of the devastation. I can just imagine the ear bending I would get if our beach hut got lifted 'Wizard of Oz' style, into the night.

If that happens, an ear-bending is the least of your worries! If you're going to book so far in advance then you'll be unable to gauge what the weather will be like for anywhere. I still say go there and enjoy yourselves.
