like a lamb to a slaughter
I am going to meet Rebecca's minister tonight. He has asked to meet us since Rebecca we hope to marry in her church.
I wish I could hold a deep theological debate with him about my feelings on the link between the church and politics in Northern Ireland, but I reckon I would be tortured.
Interesting news day..

Regarding 'Cabin Fever', they don't need to conduct much of an investigation - it was filmed by RTE and shown last Sunday. A very sad event, but great television too (I'm sure that's what RTE were thinking as well).

What flavour of church is it?

Actually, irregardless of what flavour it is don't try and start a debate on politics and the Church. You're only talking to the minister, in most cases he only deals with the aftermath - buries the bodies, visits the hospital and tends to the families. He's not likely to thank you for trying to blame all that pain on him. :)
But if you want to have that debate with me... without the influence of the Church we'd be barbarian - and the standards to which we all hold others too wouldn't exist, our education system, our health system, our goverment and our laws all descend from the Church. Of course our troubles also descend from the Church, but to focus on just one aspect is a little unfair.
I await my mauling.

It's the Church of Ireland.
I am in no position to debate such an issue, because my knowledge and facts are distinctly lacking.
I know what I want to say, and I will recognise it when I read it. ;-) But in order for me not to be exposed as someone whose debating skills were honed in balloon debates in 3rd year at school, I think I will not commit to my trumpet what I am trying to say.

This rule is deprecated.

I know Stephen it's a real cop out. But I always like this saying:
"Know your limits, don't flatter yourself, your ambitions far exceed them."
