I was in Portadown on Sunday. I walked down to Shillington's Quay while waiting for my parents to pick me up from the train station.
All I could think was I hope my parents get here before the sun sets...

Shillington's Quay brings back so many memories for me, I have fished there, launched boats there, canoed from there, run Scout duck races from there, drunk Buckfast seated there. The guy that played beside me in second row during school days drowned there. You are right though it can be dodgey at night. It's funny though, I remember canoeing along that stretch and getting out at Shillingtons there was a load of boys sitting drinking at the Quay. I was about 12 and was trying to lift one of those big Perception Quest canoes out, 3 of them came over and lifted it out. It was my earliest memory of not judging a book by it's cover.
